Making calls in a power outage

Hurricane is inbound, lost power, home network is up, still on UPS tho. Making calls off iPad is perfect on Vonage. BTW, we have (obviously) Vonage at home, but the home phones die when their base stations die. This is not only convenient, but a real safety enhancement!
